• The AS NDG CDN Futsal Academy is designed to introduce and develop players within a structured futsal pathway from youth development to senior competition.

The Academy provides one futsal training session per week, with a strong emphasis on technical development, decision making, creativity, speed of execution, playing under pressure, and learning the fundamental principles of futsal. Although many of these qualities can support a player’s development in soccer, futsal is treated by AS NDG CDN as its own sport, with its own rules, principles, technical demands, and competitive pathway.

Our objective is to progressively create a complete futsal pathway within the club:

    • U13 Academy is open to U12 and U13 players.
    • U15 Academy is open to U14 and U15 players.

  • U21 Reserve is designed for promising players generally between U18 and U21 who are ready to progress toward senior competitive futsal.

First Team represents the highest level of the AS NDG CDN futsal pathway and is intended for our strongest players. Player development remains important, but the First Team is a performance environment where competitive standards, commitment, and winning are priorities.

The U21 Reserve and First Team operate as competitive teams with two training sessions per week plus their Soccer Québec competition schedule.

The long term objective is to allow a player to enter the futsal pathway around U12 or U13 and continue progressing year after year through U15, U17, U21 Reserve, and eventually the First Team.

Futsal has recently received greater formal recognition as a distinct sport in Québec. Soccer and futsal continue to be governed through Soccer Québec, but they are now increasingly recognized as two separate sporting disciplines. With futsal expected to continue growing provincially and potentially become part of the Jeux du Québec pathway after 2030, AS NDG CDN wants to position itself early as an innovative club committed to the development of the sport.

For some players, futsal will complement their soccer development. For others, futsal may become their primary sport. Our responsibility is therefore to create a legitimate development pathway in both disciplines and allow players to progress as far as their ability, commitment, and ambition can take them.

The project already has a strong competitive foundation. In the inaugural 2025 season of the AS NDG CDN men’s futsal project, our First Team won the regional championship. The next stage is to build underneath that success and create a sustainable pathway capable of developing future First Team players from within the club.
