Centre de Développement Panthers (CDP) U09-U12 (2017-2014)

What is the CDP?

  • The CDP (Panthers Development Centre) is the name used for the NDG-CDN player development programs. This program includes young people born between 2014 and 2017.

The main objectives and values of the program are:

  • Technical development of children through fun and structured activities
  • Motor development of children through high activity time and adaptable challenges
  • Fun, fun, fun! The goal is to ensure children have fun and want to come back to play!

The CDP also aims to develop a sense of belonging to the club, which is why young athletes will be given the opportunity to work with children who are not necessarily on their team

At the end of the summer, the NDG-CDN club will host an end-of-season festival for the program's athletes; the date is yet to be confirmed

The CDP also aims to develop children optimally, and to do this, they need to be grouped with athletes who are closest to their skill level

  • With this in mind, for everyone's benefit, it will be possible for an athlete to change levels and therefore teams throughout the season, following the club's policy
  • This will not be based on merit or consequence, but rather on the long-term player development program.

Program content

In the CDP, athletes will be involved in specific activities focused on the development spheres of Soccer Québec and Soccer Canada, as well as on the annual planning of the NDG-CDN.

The program's structure consists of a basic soccer coordinator, category coordinators, and coaches of all ages trained according to the requirements of Soccer Québec and Soccer Canada for each level.*

The types of activities that can be found in the CDP are as follows:

  • Technical Activity: Activities aimed purely at helping young people develop technical skills related to soccer.
  • Motor Skills Activity: Activities aimed at teaching young people how to move properly and improve their motor skills using specific instructions or external equipment.
  • Free Match Activity: Activities where children are encouraged to play freely and develop through trial and error. Young people are encouraged to try things freely, without instructions, and apply what they have learned.
  • Themed Match Activity: Coaches and supervisors will sometimes provide specific instructions during these activities to help them better apply the learning points covered in these workshops.

Players from outside NDG-CDN

Soccer Québec's regulations are very clear and strict regarding the registration and use of players from outside the province.

These players have the status of transferred players (M1 – first year, M2 – second year)

Players therefore have the status of "muté" under the following circumstances.

  • They started their playing career at another club and did not spend two summer seasons at their new club.
  • They left their original club for more than 2 summer seasons and are trying to return.

The players don't have it if:

  • They begin their journey.
  • They spent at least two consecutive summer seasons at their club.
  • They haven't played for over 2 years.
  • They left their club for a maximum of two winter seasons and one summer season, and they are returning to their last club.

If you want to register a transferred player:

  • Send an email to ds@ndgsa.com and info@ndgsa.com.
  • Your request will be reviewed, and we will note your child's name. Please specify their full name, your email address, and year of birth.
  • In the U9 to U12 age group, please note that the maximum number of transferred players in a full age group is three.
  • Following the observation sessions, if your child is not considered for the regional level, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in our House League, where transferred athletes are unregulated.
